MICS was designed to monitor various indicators identified at the World Summit for Children and the Millennium Development Goals. The Kenya Multiple Indicator Cluster Survey (MICS 2000) was conducted to generate indicators for assessing progress made in achieving the World Summit for Children (WSC) goals while forming a basis for future action. Kenya Nationall Bureau of statistics implemented the survey with financial and technical support from UNICEF and PSRI.
