Abstract
The food security situation is in stressed phase (IPC phase 2) in mixed farming and marginal mixed farming it is in minimal phase (Phase 1)
•There was poor performance of short and long rains leading to water stress in the households, low crop production.
•Low rainfall led to inadequate pastures leading to migration of livestock, low production of milk.
•The body conditions of livestock deteriorated leading to poor prices, while crop prices is increasing.
•Current drought status is at alert phase and worsening (NDMA, Dec 2017)
