The National Household Welfare Monitoring and Evaluation Survey (NHWMES) data was collected from a sample of households, which were selected from the National Sample Surveys and Evaluation Programme (NASSEP III) sample frame. To monitor poverty and the distribution of its effects among different socioeconomic groups in the economy, data would ideally be disaggregated to the community level. However, due to cost implications and the size of population involved, the NHWMES data was disaggregated only to the district level. Urban areas was also covered separately.
