The interviewer will ask the respondent about the relationship between the head and each of the listed members. As the interviewer fills in the column for “relationship”, the column “sex” should be filled in simultaneously. Codes for sex are given in the questionnaire as follows: 1= male and 2=female. The interviewer must also ask the sex of small children when in doubt. Codes for relationship to head are given at the footnotes of the questionnaire.
